Rolling shutters are mounted over windows, doors, patios or anywhere a secure insulated barrier is needed. The interlocking slats are aluminum and filled with dense ecologic foam for insulation and rigidity. The foam core stops 99% of the radiant heat from entering your space. This insulation combined with the “dead air” space between the shutter and the glass, makes a rolling shutter one of the best products available to stop heat, cold, sound, and light.

Insulation or Security?
More customers purchase rolling shutters for insulation than security. The ecologic foam reduces the conduction of heat and cold. If you were to cut open your refrigerator you would find the same type of foam preventing the heat from getting in or cold from getting out. Additionally, when rolled down a “dead air” space is created between the window and the shutter. This greatly increases the energy resistance value. Rolling shutters will save on the cost of energy needed to heat or cool your home.
This home located in Alaska (pictured below), has rolling shutters to help keep the cold winters out and the heat in. However, they also use the shutters in the summertime to keep the heat out. Due to the large amount of glass they still get elevated temperatures and with no air conditioning the shutters allow them to keep the house comfortable.
44mm Standard Slat
Rolling shutter slats are made of aluminum and filled with a very dense ecologic foam for added strength and superior insulation value. The standard 44mm slat is our most commonly used slat. • Roll formed aluminum slat • Powder coated finish for longevity • Six standard colors • Used for applications just under 12 feet wide* • Slats interlock together to prevent separation under load • Not used for patio openings or hurricane areas

Dead air insulation • Powder coated finish for longevity • Six standard colors or custom powder coating available • Slats interlock to prevent separation under load
55mm Heavy Duty Extruded Slat

Extruded aluminum side rails guide and retain the slats as they travel up or down. Guide rails are powder coated and have a removable felt runner that cushions the slats.
55mm Patio Guide Rail

Manual Override-Crank Wand
A crank wand is used to override ride an electric shutter for opening during an emergency. Even without power the manual crank wand will raise a rolling shutter using internal gears attached to the motor. Building codes require that each sleeping room has at least one manual means as direct egress to the exterior of a building. Crank Wands can be used to manually operate a basic rolling shutter from the inside of your home without a motor.
